Copper

Copper

Per Copper’s prior owner:

Copper is a six-year-old female Border Collie who was taken in by a family after her elderly owners passed away. Unfortunately, things are not working out as she is trying to herd the young children in the home. There has been one incident where the children were wrestling on the floor and Copper became excited and nipped one of them. Therefore, she will need a home without children and someone who is experienced with this breed.

The prior owner says Copper is amazing at playing “catch”. She prefers balls, but will play with Frisbees too. She likes tug-of-war and going for walks. She also appears to enjoy water although it has been too cold lately to take her to the lake.

Copper would do best in an adult only home with someone who would enjoy engaging with an active dog, ideally with a fenced yard for her to run. She is a joy when playing outside. An owner that loves a responsive dog and is not afraid to put in quality time and work with her, would do her justice.

Copper does use a crate (although a bit reluctantly) and is house trained. She is intelligent and agile. She is very aware of her surroundings and what people around her are doing. If someone gets up to move about, 90% of the time she will also. She is looking for engaged activity most of the time. She responds very well to loving gestures and petting.

At this time Copper does not live with other animals and so it is unknown how she would be around cats or other dogs. She will sometimes bark at strangers or other dogs.

She us up to date on vaccinations and has been spayed.
