Baby Girl

Adopted May 10, 2014!

Baby Girl is a very sweet and shy dog that came to us February 4, 2013 from a small town near Houston, Texas where she had been feral most of her life.  When animal control officers were finally able to bring her in, it was unfortunately discovered that she was heartworm positive.  She had little chance of ever making it out alive – but thanks to a group of dedicated volunteers she was able to make it to Michigan so North Star could get her the veterinary care she needed.

It took five months and three heartworm treatments but  Baby Girl is now healthy and ready for her forever home! She has made tremendous strides in overcoming her fear of humans and is sweet, gentle and extremely affectionate.  Although she will most likely always be timid around strangers and nervous in new surroundings – she WILL be completely devoted to that special “someone” who understands her and gives her the time she needs to continue building her confidence.  Once you get to know her, she is such a joy to be around and I promise she will steal your heart in no time at all.

Baby Girl will need a quiet home without children as they make her very nervous.  She thoroughly enjoys the company of other dogs and would benefit from living with another confident dog.  She is fine around cats and is even a little fearful of them.

It will be required that her new home have a physical fence…NO EXCEPTIONS!  Baby Girl is crate and house trained, current on vaccinations, heartworm preventative and flea/tick preventative.  She has been spayed and is also microchipped.  Her adoption fee is $250.00.
